Movie Reviews: Kingsman-The Secret Service

OMG this movie was fantastic!!! Spy gadgets…

lots of explosions…

kicka** sidekick villain…

and lots of fighting…

It played very well on being somewhat serious, making fun of James Bond, and tying in some current issues we are facing in today’s society. I think that the actors that were chosen were perfect, and I loved seeing Mark Hamill in something new.

I found that the villain was a bit weak, both Samuel L Jackson and Sofia Boutella didn’t seem to having any reason to be what they are doing, other than saving the Earth, but how they were doing it didn’t make sense. It didn’t make sense that the politicians would be picked to stay, and how he was going to kill everyone was odd as well. For someone to hate violence, it was a very violent way to end the world.

But other than that, I found the movie to be very funny, exciting, and a great watch if you haven’t seen it.

Movie Review: Avengers-Age of Ultron

This movie, I thought, was intense! Between Scarlet Witch and Quick Silver kicking a**…

The different dilemmas the characters were facing…

And learning the truth about Hawkeye…

Every one in the audience was taken for quite a ride! I thought how the personal lives of Black Widow, the Hulk, and Hawkeye were more explored brought the characters out of their stereotypical roles and gave the movie more substance. It was quite a change from the first movie.

As for Ultron and the creation of Ultron, I thought it was quite interesting that Tony Stark did the exact same thing that Nick Fury did in the first movie. He became scared because of aliens coming to Earth in Avengers (like Fury did in Thor) then he created something that was beyond his knowledge (Fury using the tesserae) then created a weapon that would bring peace (the whole plot of Avengers). So it was pretty much the exact same reasoning behind everything, but this time we got to see Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver!

The ending was heartbreaking, both having to do with Quicksilver and the Hulk, and I really hope that they bring both of them back. I can’t wait for the next one! Looking forward to all the Marvel movies that are lined up, and hopefully the Gambit movie!!!

Movie Review: The Seeker-The Dark is Rising

This movie had so much potential! It started out well, with the normal young hero being thrown into an adventure where he has to save the world. There is a good side and there is an evil side, both wanting him to help them. Personally, I would join the dark side…

Because who wouldn’t say yes to Christopher Eccleston/The Doctor wanting to take over the world and put it into perpetual winter. Snow is just so pretty…

Anyway, the main character became emo, like Spiderman in the third movie, and was very wishy-washy throughout the movie. It felt also, as many movies have done, that the people trying to help him were keeping way too much from him and so our hero couldn’t accomplish his task. Just spill the beans so that we can finish the story already!!!

Christopher Eccleston did a fantastic (*snicker) job, I believe, at being the villain in this movie (though some would call me bias). Although it wasn’t the greatest movie, I think it’s still something you all should check out.

Movie Review: X-men Days of Future Past

This movie was AMAZING!!!!! I have gone to see it three times now. Each actor did a splendid job and I wasn’t bored at any instant.

Some of the best parts of the movie included all the scenes with Quicksilver (he was fantastic)

and the parts when Magneto goes badass and turns to his darker side, causing chaos wherever he goes…

But that is why we love him. Michael Fassbender did a great job bringing Magneto to life, and I love seeing members of the old cast brought back as well (**spoiler although wanted to cry when I saw Cyclops’s face). Also, still very very made that there was no Gambit, and even more furious about the news of Channing Tatum being the next Gambit… I guess we will see…

This was by far my favorite X-men movie, even with no Gambit. I can’t wait to see where they will bring the series. Although there were some plot issues, like them not bringing Quicksilver with them even though he is awesome and fast or not really mentioning Wanda or the fact we now have two Quicksilvers and maybe two Wandas because of rights held by Disney and Fox… **Spoler: Also I want to know why when Wolverine wakes up, he’s not angry about what Magneto did to him. I would be furious! The first thing I would say is where the hell is Magneto, I am going to kill him!

If you haven’t seen it, go see it right now! I promise it’s better than any of the others and that it will be worth your time!
